boring day
Mar. 4th, 2025 07:23 pmWell, today I didn't worry about anything too important. I decided to rewatch Serial Experiments Lain because I've been consuming a lot of content about it recently. Anyway, I was also organizing my entire online presence, and I'm still having conflicts with which sites are ideal and with all my pseudonyms. I've been worried ever since I was stalked, so I don't want to use my old pseudonym anymore, even though I like it a lot. Sometimes I just want to look at it as nonsense (and in a way, it is. I'm paranoid) and leave all of it behind, but on the other hand, it will be fun. Well, maybe I shouldn't worry so much and just enjoy doing it; it's not like it's something professional anyway. I imagine that if I ever manage to become famous with the stuff I create, I would still like to be recognized by the pseudonym I have now. I'm treating silly names as something grand, but in reality, it's something. Names can be associated with personalities and can be like an alter ego. Well, in my case, I'm doing something experimental, still putting a lot of personal stuff in it, so anyway, I would care and get hurt if I received criticism or something like that. Since COVID-19 appeared, the number of people on the internet has increased along with the toxicity. My way of getting rid of it was to search for corners that remind me of the old internet and its beginnings when it was fresh. I think using a trash can as an analogy for today's new social networks is a good example, not that I'm saying they suck and dictating that they're horrible. I actually mean the content itself and how people mold themselves and react to it. Misinformation, web bullying, stupidity being seen as cool, addiction, soft porn being watched by kids, and many other things are absurd, and I feel like it's not really being noticed as it should be. People look and think, "Oh, yes, that's sad, but what can I do?" Yeah, they’re right. Unfortunately, they can’t do anything alone. And lately, I’ve been noticing a wave of people who no longer have empathy for others on the internet. It's easier for them to feel empathy for fictional characters from their favorite games than for a real human being. It's almost like it wouldn't make a difference if they were replaced by artificial intelligences. Well, the future is going to be... interesting. Nothing more, nothing less than interesting to witness.
